WEDIKO NEW YORK CITY

In December 2021, the Surgeon General issued a warning stating that young people are facing a mental health crisis. Now more than ever, it is critical that children and adolescents have access to quality clinical care and the supports they need to succeed. At Wediko New York at The Home, we are committed to improving children's lives and believe that schools are an ideal place to promote well-being. Schools and families cannot do it alone.

For over a decade, Wediko has supported the entire communities of New York City schools, while also providing direct services to students and their families. We have found that when all the adults in a child’s life can get on the same page, good things can happen. As we mark our 10th anniversary, we also celebrate our impact. Wediko New York has…

  •      Served over 45 schools
  •      Supported over 15,000 students
  •      Supported over 6,000 Department of Education staff members
  •      Helped over 9,000 families
  •      Provided individual counseling and group services to over 22,500 students

SCHOOL-BASED SUPPORT MEETS AN URGENT NEED

Wediko NY works closely with the New York City Department of Education, New York City Office of Community Schools,  The New York State Office of School Health and the federal 21st Century grant program to design programming which responds to the needs of children who face repeated obstacles to development due to emotional, behavioral, environmental and learning challenges. We believe that advocacy for children’s mental health services is imperative, and we are committed to continuing and increasing that effort.
