Special Education Schools

THE HOME'S PROGRAMS

INDIVIDUALIZED ATTENTION IN A STRUCTURED,
SUPPORTIVE SETTING

The Home for Little Wanderers operates three special education schools for kids aged 5 to 18 from across New England. The schools provide a safe, secure environment that allows each child to reach their fullest social and academic potential, with the option of residential care for students who need out-of-home support. Our campuses include:

Each school provides a consistent environment where the needs of the whole
child are met.

  • Structured settings and behavior support systems help students learn to manage difficult feelings, control behavior, respond appropriately, focus on schoolwork and improve their overall performance.
  • Small class sizes and a high staff-to-student ratio permit individualized attention, support, consistency and regular feedback.
  • When required, an Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) clearly spell out the specific goals and objectives of each child and family.
  • Onsite clinicians meet regularly with each youngster for individual therapy, and work closely with the family to provide therapy and support services.

Students in all three Home schools feel safe, valued, challenged and supported.
