Harrington House, The Home’s group residence for children ages 8-13, offers 24-hour therapeutic care, stabilization services and treatment for youth in state care who are transitioning to a less restrictive setting. Harrington House offers the structure and comfort of a homelike setting with a 1:3 staff to child ratio, while keeping children engaged in their communities through school attendance, sports and other extracurricular activities.
Many of the children at Harrington House have experienced traumatic events, disrupted family lives or they have not had the opportunity to form healthy attachments. These early childhood experiences affect the way our kids think, feel and behave. We offer individualized care, helping them to cope with their histories and manage their emotions, while encouraging healing and growth.
At Harrington House, permanency efforts are also an important part of treatment. We work to ensure that children at Harrington House leave with lasting, loving connections that will support them for life. Youth are referred by the Department of Children and Families
and The Department of Mental Health.
