HELPING SHAPE CHILD WELFARE
POLICIES FOR OVER 200 YEARS

The Home’s Advocacy Team partners with local, state and federal
governments to help drive legislation and public policy in support of struggling
children and their families. Building on our 200+-year legacy as a child welfare
leader, we strive to:

  • Educate and engage political leaders, policy makers, child welfare
professionals and the general public on key issues that impact the lives of
    children
  • Influence state policy to place a greater emphasis on the positive
development of children, their families and communities
  • Continue our tradition of innovative programs and practices, which include
one of the first LGBTQ+ group homes, the Aging Out Youth Coalition for children who outgrow foster care, the co-founding of the Massachusetts Permanency Practice Alliance and more
  • Establish The Home as a statewide leader to increase coordination of
policy efforts on behalf of the children we serve.
